Doctor Who kicked ass!

Normally I wouldn't watch the Communist Broadcasting Corporation, but for the past few weeks on Tuesday nights, I have been watching their import of the new Doctor Who from the UK. The show was absolutely brilliant! With their being a drought in the sci-fi/fantasy world on TV over here right now, the show hit just at the right time. Yes, it can be cheesy at times, but that is just British humour! Christopher Ecclestone was great as The Doctor, too bad he decided not to return for Season Two. Billie Piper as Rose Tyler is also great to watch for other reasons.

I just watched the season finale tonight in HD at my parent's place. Can't wait for the new season! If you missed it, the CBC is re-running all of season one soon on Sunday nights.

From the Polish to the French

Quote of the day from former Polish President Lech Walesa:

"I suggest that he ask the French why the heck for so many years they encouraged Poles to build capitalism when as it turns out they are Communists themselves",
referring to Polish model Piotr Adamski, who is currently part of an ad campaign for Poland that is running in France.

In Two More Weeks....

No more! (Inside joke)

What a scorcher outside it was today... feeling like 41 Celsius with the humidity.

Is Canada still a democracy? Not with the actions of how the Crooks, the Socialists, and the Separatists conspired last night to ram through the NDP budget.

Now they conspire to bring Canada even deeper into immorality next week.

How is passing SSM a matter of crisis?

Parliamentary protocol dictates that sessions are only extended or Parliament recalled in matters of crisis.

Going to war is a matter of crisis. A natural Disaster, such as a certain flood in Alberta, is a matter of crisis. Disease outbreaks is a matter of crisis. Major economic shocks, such as mad cow, is a matter of crisis. Legalizing same-sex marriage, something the polls continue to show that a large percentage of people don't agree with, now instead of in the fall... pushing the Liberals' radical left-wing agenda, yes, but not a matter of crisis!

Another Jays win

Went to the Jays game tonight, where they were victorious in a 9-5 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. I've been to 6 games live at the Rogers Centre so far this season, and after they lost the first two that I attended, this is now the 4th win a row for the Jays with myself there. Maybe I should go to the next few games, the Jays certainly need the wins!

Remind me never to eat takeout from the local Rabba store ever again...

Live 8

Hmmmm.... London, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Philadelphia... Barrie???!!! Give me a break. Just another excuse for Canadians to say "me too, I'm here, don't forget about me!".

As for Live 8 in itself, it will create some publicity for a few weeks about Africa and that's it. It won't solve the root cause of the problem, which isn't that they owe some money (and by the way, in case any of you forgot, those of us in the developed world are the ones being penalized by allowing them to not pay back their loans without getting anything in return), but the corruption of government officials, contractors and the wealthy classes in Africa (of which there are many) won't allow a thing to change because they live by exploiting their own people and resources. The bleeding hearts will continue to blame "our Western lifestyles" for their suffering. Look at it again... funny, nobody else in the world has experienced their long-term suffering, why not take a look at the governments of Africa and put the blame where it belongs. Tell me, has anything actually changed since the last Live Aid in 1984?

Stuck in the GTA

It just occurred to me that so far in 2005, I haven't actually ventured at all outside of the Greater Toronto Area. More specifically, the only places I've physically been in are the City of Toronto, Markham, Stouffville, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Mississauga, and Pickering. I definitely need a trip somewhere.

This is a really cool Website:
TravelPod: The Web's Original Free Travel Blog

Getting a new camera

A Canon A520 to replace my broken one.

Hmmmm.... will this maybe inspire me to put up a photoblog??

In other news, is my actual offer for a full-time job imminent after months of delays? My manager says so, but how many times have I heard that before?

A report on the CBC Web site: "Defectors say China running 1000 spies in Canada". Like I always say, despite the fact that we have huge amounts of trade with them, something you buy from Wal-Mart is likely to be imported from there, and people living in China are getting filthy rich from exports, never forget that they are an authoritarian dictatorship. One only has to take a look at the recent news about Chinese censorship of what people over there are allowed to post on blogs. (and the sad part, companies like MSN are cooperating with them in censoring people's free speech).

Time for a new Web site

I've become sorta bored with this one, as you can tell by my lack of blogposts lately. Time for something totally new. That doesn't mean that this blog will be dissapearing, I just haven't had the inspiration lately to blog about the world of politics (note: after Thursday's Supreme Court ruling, I am hopeful that we'll finally be able to soon have the free choice of choosing our own health care rather than being forced to used the communist system we've had to put up with in Canada), but I just need something new to get my creative juices back flowing again.

Went to the Distillery Blues Festival this evening. Totally kicked ass! I wish there were more live blues performances in Toronto, rather than the endless jazz festivals that take place in the city all summer.

Biased MSM right on the front pages

What a surprise... the morning after a Liberal splits from his party caucus to sit as an independent MP over the same-sex marriage issue, what is on the top of every web site for every mainstream media source?

"Stress Leave for Conservative MP Grewal".

Because everything is all good in Liberal land, right? And the Tories are full of mental cases. Or so the mainstream media wants you to believe.

And here comes another week

Last week since the 10K run, I was totally focussed on an end-of-project presentation that I had to give for the client on Friday morning. I think it went well, and the team went out for a lunch of many beers and ribs afterwards. I then slept all Friday afternoon, and pretty much vegged all weekend just checking out "Woofstock" at the Distillery District, looked at some other shops for furniture (I still need a new dining table for my condo!), and watched baseball. I have no idea what is in store for me this upcoming week and next, whether I'll be tasked to a new project, or whether I'll even have a full-time job, be staying on my contract (of which my hourly rate is lower than it should be!), if I'll be let go. Who knows.

I got that travel itch again... alas, don't think I'll have the opportunity to go anywhere again for the time being regardless of what happens with the above.

I think I'm going to start jogging again regularly this week. No, I'm not going to enter the half-marathon, but I have been feeling lazy for the past week since I stopped after the 10K.

I can't pick up the paper anymore without feeling pessimistic about the Conservatives' current chances in an election, so I don't feel like blogging about it right now.
